The villages of the Muskoka Lakes sit close enough together to string into one unhurried day. This route runs from the falls at Bala up through Port Carling and the quiet eastern shore of Lake Rosseau, with the locks and the water doing most of the entertaining.
- Morning — BalaExplore Bala’s village shops and view the falls from public areas. Check bakery and restaurant hours before travelling.
- Afternoon — Port Carling and WindermereHead to Port Carling for shops, the museum and seasonal lock activity, then continue to Windermere for Lake Rosseau views and a meal. Keep extra hiking or stargazing for another day to leave time for the drive.
