Muskoka's western edge is different country: pink granite, wind-shaped pines and the southern reach of the Thirty Thousand Islands. This is a two-day weekend built around water, boats and small villages, with no long drives and plenty of time sitting still.
- Day 1 — Honey HarbourArrange seasonal boat transport to Beausoleil Island in advance and confirm park access with Parks Canada. Choose trails appropriate to your ability. If boats cannot run, enjoy a land-based village day; do not substitute an unplanned paddle in unsuitable weather.
- Day 2 — Big Chute and Port SevernCheck Parks Canada’s operating schedule before visiting the Big Chute Marine Railway and Port Severn Lock 45. Leave time for lunch and a village walk. Six Mile Lake Provincial Park is another option with the required permit and suitable conditions.
