AN INDEPENDENT GUIDE TO MUSKOKA, ONTARIOFor local businesses

A LOCAL POINT OF VIEW

A little closer
to Muskoka.

An independent guide to the places, experiences and local businesses that make a trip worth taking.

Built around the place.

MuskokaOntario.com is being developed by Jason Ansell, based in Bracebridge, as part of a growing local-business and regional travel network alongside ShopLocal.website, CentralOntario.ca and TheGreatLakes.ca.

Our aim is simple: make it easier to discover the region and support the people who work here. We bring together community guides, trip ideas, attractions and business profiles.

The land we write about.

Muskoka is the homeland of the Anishinaabeg, including Ojibwe, Odawa and Potawatomi peoples, within lands covered by the Robinson-Huron Treaty of 1850 and the Williams Treaties of 1923. The Wahta Mohawks and Moose Deer Point First Nation have lands within the region today. We are committed to sharing Indigenous history and places accurately and respectfully, and we welcome guidance and corrections from First Nations and Métis communities. Read our introduction to Indigenous Muskoka.

Independent, transparent and useful.

We are an independent publication, not an official tourism authority. A listing does not imply a commercial partnership or endorsement. Sponsored placements, when offered, are labelled. Booking and admission arrangements remain with the operator.

We use official sources and invite corrections. Opening times, access and services can change; check with the provider before travelling. Photographs have credits and licence details on our photo credits page.
