Lake of Bays is Muskoka's calmer east side, a big, many-armed lake with three villages strung around it. This route makes a loop you can drive from Huntsville or Bracebridge in a day, and it is at its best in late September and early October.
- MorningBegin in Baysville at the lake's southern tip, the village where Lake of Bays Brewing got its start.
- Late morningFollow the shoreline roads east to Dorset and climb the Dorset Lookout Tower. On peak colour weekends, reserve your visit ahead with the Township of Algonquin Highlands.
- AfternoonContinue around to Dwight on the north shore for a late lunch and time by the water.
- Late afternoonReturn via Huntsville, or carry on east along Highway 60 for an evening drive into Algonquin Park.
