Start at Bracebridge Falls beside the Silver Bridge, then wander up Manitoba Street for independent shops, galleries and cafés.
Drive five minutes north to High Falls, a broad cascade on the Muskoka River’s north branch with a short trail alongside.
Plan a family day at Santa’s Village, the Christmas-themed park on a bend of the Muskoka River (open late May to early September, plus festive weekends).
Stop at the Muskoka Brewery taproom for a pint brewed in town.
Visit from late November to early December for the Festival of Lights: moonlight shopping, fireworks and the evening Santa Claus Parade.
In winter, warm up around the fire pits at the Fire & Ice Festival downtown.
