Georgian Bay Islands National Park
Canada's island national park, reached by boat from Honey Harbour, with trails, swimming coves and windswept pines.
The park protects a scatter of islands at the southern end of the Thirty Thousand Islands, and most visitors focus on Beausoleil Island, the largest. Its trails cross from hardwood forest in the south to the bare, wind-shaped granite and pines of the north, the landscape the Group of Seven painted. There are swimming coves, cabins and campsites, and no private vehicles on the island. Everything starts with a boat from the Honey Harbour area, whether a seasonal park shuttle, a water taxi or your own. Check Parks Canada for transport, reservations and the operating season before setting out.
