Port Severn & the last lock
The small village where the Trent-Severn Waterway meets Georgian Bay, with its final lock and a busy channel of boats.
Port Severn sits at the western gateway to Muskoka, where the Trent-Severn Waterway drops through its last lock into Georgian Bay. Lock 45 is a short walk from the village centre and the boat traffic through it is constant in summer. Around it you will find a general store, marinas, a handful of places to eat and views up the channel. It is an easy stop on the way north, and worth more than the twenty minutes most drivers give it.
