Dorset Lookout Tower
A lookout tower above the treeline with one of Ontario's best-known autumn colour views over Lake of Bays.
The current tower was built for visitors in 1967, replacing an earlier fire lookout on the same ridge above Dorset. From the top, the view runs across forested hills and the bays of Lake of Bays, which is why it is one of the most photographed autumn colour stops in the province. It is operated by the Township of Algonquin Highlands and open seasonally; peak colour weekends may require advance reservations.
